From Out of the Past

In my 40 years at Newsday, and on Long Island, I had never been to Dowling College in Oakdale. One of its campuses is located at the former W. K. Vanderbilt estate "Idle Hour," which was built in 1901. What a sight to see! It was raining today, and that always enriches the saturation of the colors. This is a view of the courtyard, and it felt really good to see that it has been kept in such wonderful condition.
