It may be work, it may be play, it may be near, it may be away. So here is the challenge - to shoot and post one photograph a day on this site. These photographs are a kind of diary of things I find interesting. I am also thinking that there will be days when I am unable to shoot, so on those infrequent occasions, I will post a photograph done on another day, but one that still feels important to me. - Ken Spencer

The Yellow Carpet
This is not a great photograph. What it is, is a record of a beautiful scene. There is a difference. The back yard is gorgeous with its carpet of yellow leaves, and this image is just a record of that, not the "something else" that I expect from a great photograph. A simple record, a snapshot. But worth looking at, to be sure. Please click on it to see it larger, and with better color.
Just catching up on your blog. Love the busts. They're displayed like they were in a souvenir shop but you can tell they're so much more than that. The leaves are lovely, too. Nice to see that after mastering the masonry on your chimney, you can still take pictures!
ReplyDeleteYou are too funny the way you downplay some of your photo's - this is a very beautiful shot.
ReplyDelete(though my next thought was it is time to get you a leaf blower :-) )
The yellow carpet looks beautiful, but I only think of having to clean them up. I have raked 29 bags already and will have another 10 at least. Jenny bought me an early Christmas present last week - a leaf blower! That will help! :-)
ReplyDeleteYou will think this funny, but I am reluctant to rake the leaves. I love seeing them there. I wish I could leave them until winter, but it will cause trouble with the grass. I do have a leaf blower, but hate it, so the leaves are now in the street. they got there by rake. The silence is golden!
