It may be work, it may be play, it may be near, it may be away. So here is the challenge - to shoot and post one photograph a day on this site. These photographs are a kind of diary of things I find interesting. I am also thinking that there will be days when I am unable to shoot, so on those infrequent occasions, I will post a photograph done on another day, but one that still feels important to me. - Ken Spencer

Starship
I love how mysterious this looks, and how threatening. It looks like a spaceship from outer space about to land. It is none of these, however. It is a Goto Planetarium Projector at the Vanderbilt Planetarium. It projects the night sky onto the 60 foot diameter dome. It was installed when the planetarium was first built in 1969. We had a lecture on the operation of this incredibly complex machine, tonight, and it was fascinating. Click on it to see better color, please.
