It may be work, it may be play, it may be near, it may be away. So here is the challenge - to shoot and post one photograph a day on this site. These photographs are a kind of diary of things I find interesting. I am also thinking that there will be days when I am unable to shoot, so on those infrequent occasions, I will post a photograph done on another day, but one that still feels important to me. - Ken Spencer

Christopher's Planets
This was a very special evening tonight. We moved our astronomy club meeting night from Wednesday, to tonight, Tuesday, just so we could hear this talk from Christopher Go. He is from the Philipines, and is one of the most accomplished amateur planetary imagers in the world! In face he now works with a group and gets to use the Hubble Space Telescope! That is just astounding for an amateur astronomer. His talk was riveting, about how to take great photographs of the planets from our backyards.
What drives someone to be so great at one thing? When you're possessed with a special talent, do you know it early on? Is it like the current pulling you out to sea? Eventually, you must give in to it, or die struggling against it? Does it ever leave you? What if you have it and can't fulfill it because you've never been encouraged, had the time or the money, to pursue it? How much talent do we lose everyday? What would the world be like if we could all follow a special calling? I wonder.
