It may be work, it may be play, it may be near, it may be away. So here is the challenge - to shoot and post one photograph a day on this site. These photographs are a kind of diary of things I find interesting. I am also thinking that there will be days when I am unable to shoot, so on those infrequent occasions, I will post a photograph done on another day, but one that still feels important to me. - Ken Spencer

What A Mess - Part 2
I am standing on my plank, suspended between two ladders, getting the ceiling and walls ready for painting. I know you are not supposed to SAND plaster - you are supposed to use a damp rag. I think sanding works best, but WHAT A MESS! Yikes. Does this photograph make you dizzy? I tried to frame it so it would, but when I am working I am looking up, so it doesn't make me dizzy, at least so far...
You're probably doing a better job than anyone you could hire, but is it worth the risk? Sure, you're careful, but one moment of distraction and you could end up with broken bones or worse. Why take a chance?
ReplyDeleteI guess it's because i'm a Connecticut yankee, and so to "do it yourself" is in my DNA. You have a good point, though. A college friend had some kind of accident down in Florida, while on a ladder, and he is in a nursing home now! Yikes! And he used to be a championship water-skiier! So I do think about things like this.
ReplyDeleteYes this makes me dizzy and nervous about you falling off the plank. I was a CT Yankee before, but now I am getting to old ...or just not enough time to do it yourself! :-)
