It may be work, it may be play, it may be near, it may be away. So here is the challenge - to shoot and post one photograph a day on this site. These photographs are a kind of diary of things I find interesting. I am also thinking that there will be days when I am unable to shoot, so on those infrequent occasions, I will post a photograph done on another day, but one that still feels important to me. - Ken Spencer

California Girl & Thunderstorm
The whole time she has been here Liz has been hoping for a good old East Coast thunderstorm. I guess they rarely get thunderstorms on the beach in Venice. There have been threats for the past couple of days, but nothing. Until today. Today we got a nice one - a fair amount of thunder and a couple of lightning flashes, but most importantly, a pretty good rain for nearly an hour. When Liz was little, she and Amy would go down to the street, where there is always a small river coming down our hill when it rains. So, true to form, she headed for the street this afternoon, just to put her feet in the river, feeling that she was rewarded with the weather she was hoping for.
It is fun to relive our childhood memories! I am sure she loved having the river run over her feet!

Yeah, I think so too. It was so nice to watch...
ReplyDeleteAwww, cool! Remember how excited I was last year to get some thunderstorms, too? Guess the love for it runs in the family. :)
ReplyDeleteYes I do remember, and you ended up on the blog as well... Standing on the porch watching the rain come down. :-)
