It may be work, it may be play, it may be near, it may be away. So here is the challenge - to shoot and post one photograph a day on this site. These photographs are a kind of diary of things I find interesting. I am also thinking that there will be days when I am unable to shoot, so on those infrequent occasions, I will post a photograph done on another day, but one that still feels important to me. - Ken Spencer

Mission San Xavier del Bac
Busy day today. First we traveled to Mt. Hopkins to visit the MMT Telescope. Spectacular scenery, and a VERY exciting mountain road to go up and down. Then on the way back we visited the Titan Missile Museum, and then this church! Quite an eclectic day! This is a stunning architectural treasure of the southwest. Mission San Xavier del Bac is a historic Spanish Catholic mission located about 10 miles south of Tucson, on the Tohono O'odham San Xavier Indian Reservation. We tried to get here while the sun was still up, but missed it by about 15 minutes. No matter, there is still color in the sky, and the beauty of the church is easy to see in this soft light.
Beautiful sky color. Amazing church. bsk
