It may be work, it may be play, it may be near, it may be away. So here is the challenge - to shoot and post one photograph a day on this site. These photographs are a kind of diary of things I find interesting. I am also thinking that there will be days when I am unable to shoot, so on those infrequent occasions, I will post a photograph done on another day, but one that still feels important to me. - Ken Spencer

The Pink Lady
We have had this rowboat under our front porch for 20 years or so. I originally got it in order to row out to our sailboat which was moored in the harbor at the end of our street. Years ago Amy and her friend asked if they could fix it up and paint it, and they did. They painted it pink, and got letters for the back, and named it "Pink Lady." So when she arrived here, she wondered if it would still float without leaking. So we got it out, cleaned it up, and took it down to the harbor. It still floats, it leaks just a bit, and we rowed around for a couple of hours, with Amy doing most of the work. It was a fun afternoon.
I'd love to see a side view of the boat- if it is "pink enough," you could being it to Stellafane!

Wow! This cool photo brings back memories. It's hard to believe your rowboat has been under your porch for twenty years but even harder to believe that nearly forty years ago we used to bring our dingy's down to the waterfront using hand-built trailers made of galvanized pipe, wood and small wheels. It was wonderful having our sailboats moored so close to home.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot but I want to see the side of the boat too. I guess you save everything for a reason! :-)
