It may be work, it may be play, it may be near, it may be away. So here is the challenge - to shoot and post one photograph a day on this site. These photographs are a kind of diary of things I find interesting. I am also thinking that there will be days when I am unable to shoot, so on those infrequent occasions, I will post a photograph done on another day, but one that still feels important to me. - Ken Spencer

Judy's Garden
I went over to a neighbor's house today to look at some limbs from one of her trees that came crashing down in a thunderstorm last week. We chatted a bit, and as I turned to walk down her front steps, I saw this! One of my favorite flowers - the Purple coneflower, surrounded by Lavender. Are you impressed that I actually know the names of both these flowers? I hope so.
I am impressed! :-)
ReplyDeleteJoan
those of us who follow your blog know that joan is your sister.
ReplyDeleteher feedback is always supportive, praising and encouraging. what a blessing to have a sibling who helps build your self esteem, especially when growing up, when we all need it; who is not afraid to show her love and who is proud of everything you do. it's a true gift to have someone like that in your life, especially when you're young. we would all be so much better off if we had a joan in our life. brother-sister bonding isn't a guarantee in any family, so it's wonderful if it happen and it only happens if there's love and guidance from parents. even then, it's not a sure thing.
i hope, ken, that you often tell joan that you love her and appreciate her because it's obvious she feels that way about you.
oh, and i'm not impressed that you could name the flowers. if you didn't know the names, you'd research them and learn everything about them, attacking the black hole of knowledge as you always do. that's why you seem to know at least a little something about everything. not a bad obsession to have.
Dear Anonymous: Thank you for this wonderful tribute to Joan! So beautifully written, and so true! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteAbout my knowledge of flowers: I only know these two - the rest of the time I depend on faithful readers to help me out... :-)
