Rituals. The small joys of life. So our Tuesday morning ritual is to go to Dunkin' Donuts for coffee and one donut each. We used to go to Starbucks every Tuesday after I retired, but they changed their frequent flyer program, and it really annoyed me, so now I am boycotting them. I am sure they are feeling the pain... I have a bavarian cream donut. Every week. For eight months. I get stuck in my ways.
Wow! I can't believe anyone would depend on Starbucks for a free airline ticket. And their coffee isn't very good to boot! Figuring about 6 bucks for a coffee and muffin per visit earning 2 points and then assuming about $300 for an average airline ticket, I calculated it would take 2,500 visits to Starbucks to have enough points for a round trip plane ride. That further computes to about 48 years of liver damage at one visit to Starbucks/week/round trip ticket.
ReplyDeleteThat's a hoot Jas. Unfortunately all Starbucks gives away with their "frequent flyer program" is a free cup of coffee. Is it any wonder why Ken wanted to dump them?

I love these comments. The deal is, I was being silly by calling it a "frequent flyer" program. The deal was that when I bought a bag of their beans, I would get a free Latte, which is good because the beans were overpriced. They changed so that I would only get 1 point for the beans, same as 1 point for a cup of regular coffee. Thus, the boycott. :-)
