Rochester skies! How well I remember them! These clouds are the result of all the moisture that is picked up by the air as it comes over the warm waters of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario, and when it gets over the land, it is cooled, and that's how the clouds form at this time of year. I do enjoy clouds, but when I was in school here, it became oppressive to have clouds day after day after day. But for us, now, it is something we see for just a few days and then we will be back home, thanfully.
I love the gray sky in this photo. The red barn is beautiful. It's surprising to see the grass still so green but it looks nice with the golden colors too. It's a nice photo of Autumn. Trace
ReplyDeleteI used to live in upstate NY and I remember one winter when it was cloudy on the first of Dec. I kept track of how many days in a row it was cloudy. 45 days later I could honestly say there had only been one hour of sunlight. That was a depressing winter.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda:
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your comment about the weather in upstate New York. That many days of gray skies can sure start to work a person's sense of well being! I wonder where in Upstate New York did you live?
These dark clouds look ominous and gloomy. Thank goodness for a bit of blue sky and the beautiful red barn to add some color. Betsey
