Magenta Grasses

I was coming back from my lunch in Northport and driving up Route 107.  I passed this lawn of an estate  where I have found so many photographs of the landscape in the past.  I saw the brilliant magenta grasses and immediately pulled to the side of the road.  Unfortunately the sun went behind the clouds and it became almost completely overcast!  The magenta grasses were less brilliant withougt the sun.  I waited for a while but then did this photograph in the softer light.  You can still see the grasses, but I should go back when it is bright sunshine!  I did a fair amount of searching on google but could not determine what kind of grasses these were.

It looks like a nice quiet spot away from the madness of the world! The colors are lovely. Love the evergreens. Trace

It looks lovely and I agree with Trace's comment. I googled low growing pink grass that blooms in September and didn't find anything. I think of pink as creeping phlox and creeping thyme that bloom in the Spring. I am curious what this is.

Hi Joan: Thanks for the guesses on the grasses. Isn't it strange that neither of us were able to find the type of grass that it is! Thanks for looking!
