The well dressed suburban man...

I am thrilled to report that I am done for the season with my painting!  The extension ladders and the safety ropes are all put away!  The big part of the project was the front dormer, which looks gorgeous.  Then I did the trim on three windows on the rear of the house. Then trim on two windows on the west side.  And finally, thanks to a spate of perfect weather, I did the eaves and fascia on the rear of the house!  And this is what gear I wore for all this work. I even got some white paint on the house. But this is misleading - you are looking at paint from my work on the house for the last 20 years on my red jacket.  Whew!, it was a lot of work, but now that it is done, it such a feeling of satisfaction!

  3. As soon as I saw the paint all over your red jacket, I thought “I can’t believe he ruined his favorite red jacket “. Didn’t realize you’ve been using it all these years for your painting projects. So glad you are done with house painting! Betsey

  4. To answer ken schwarz question, no I am not retiring this jacket just yet. In the spring I plan to repaint the west side of the house. And then after I repaint the front porch, I will be done painting. But I will be super careful in the spring so that I can continue to photograph and keep this blog going! Today I measured the height from the ground to the top of the roof. It is 26 feet. Funny, from the ground it seems taller than that. From the top of the ladder when I am painting right to the peak, it seems TWICE that height! That's why I am so careful.
