This post is more about memory than it is about the photograph itself. I met my sisters here for our day in the city last week. Grand Central has always been "my" train station. I grew up in Connecticut, so I first came to this station as a high school kid, and later as a college freshman where I took the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad from Milford, Connecticut, to here and then took the New York Central train to Rochester, New York where college was. It feels as if this station has played a significant part of life, with my comings and goings. So it was good to be here again, and have memories wash over me.
It may be work, it may be play, it may be near, it may be away. So here is the challenge - to shoot and post one photograph a day on this site. These photographs are a kind of diary of things I find interesting. I am also thinking that there will be days when I am unable to shoot, so on those infrequent occasions, I will post a photograph done on another day, but one that still feels important to me. - Ken Spencer
