Margo Lundell, 1941 - 2020

This is Margo Lundell and her son Eric.  She was Kathy's dearest friend, and lived in Manhattan.  Kathy and Margo both met while going to Fordham University in Manhattan, when both were studying for their Masters in Social Work.  That was in 1997 and they became great friends.  Margo worked for Simon & Schuster where she wrote and edited the Little Golden Books series for children, before she trained as a social worker.  Kathy would invite her out here on weekends, and the two of them would sit on the front porch and talk all afternoon long.  It was wonderful for them because they could discuss their cases and help each other.  I can still hear her laughing on the front porch!  She just loved coming out here for a respite.  Kathy would go visit her in Manhattan and they would spend the day together doing what best friends do. She passed away today at NYU, a victim of the Coronavirus.

What a beautiful yet heart wrenching story. So glad Kathy had that friendship. This virus is so destructive on so many levels. I am glad that you and Kathy have each other . I am thankful for your posts. They are a highlight and bright s spot in my days.

My heart is breaking for Kathy and Margo's family. Sending hugs and love to you both. A lovely tribute to their friendship but to read that it was from the virus is devastating.

I am so sorry to read this. Please give extra hugs to Kathy from me. It must be so difficult to lose such a good friend. But especially horrible that Margo died from Coronavirus. It is frightening for all of us. betsey

this post brought a tear to my eye too many stories like this. little golden books a classic and favorite of many. this is an unfair ending caused by a very heartless virus. condolences to you both and her family..
