A Sea Cliff Painted Lady

We were headed down to Glen Cove, and as we drove along Sea Cliff Avenue, I just happened to glance to the left, and caught a glimpse of this house.  I couldn't believe my eyes!  It was the colors that first caught my attention, and then the flowers by the stairs.  How had I not seen this before?  So on the way back I stopped to take these two photographs.  Which one do you like the most?  I also looked up this house on the web, and one reason why I might not have noticed this before is that not that long ago, the house was all clapboards - there were no shingles in the gables - those have been added recently.  It was very ordinary in it's previous incarnation, but it is really something special now.

Bottom photo gets my vote due to the view of the entrance looking down the long walk. A very nice old house with Victorian upgrades!

I prefer the bottom photo as well. A grand entrance to a charming home.

I prefer the bottom photo showing their stone walkway and more of their lawn. The colors are unusual but they work with their choice of flower color. bsk

Thank you all for your votes. Get this, when I came up to the entrance to the house, on the street, I took ONE frame! I was so sure that the best shot was the closer view! Man oh man, I am beginning to doubt my judgement! Fortunately that one image was in focus!
