Wow! A Corvette!

I saw what looked like a brand new, bright blue Corvette, driving home from Stop & Shop in Glen Cove.  it was moving slower than the rest of the traffic so I had time to look at it as I slowly went by.  I was stunned to see the driver, and his pet dog!  If you've got it, flaunt it!

As we neared a red light, I got out my cellphone and did two quick shots without looking at what I was pointing at, and I was lucky and got these two photographs.  I was surprised at the age of the driver, for some reason, but to see him with his dog was so cute.  The whole thing was just so surprising and I thought it worth a photograph or two!

First, not being a car guy, I was surprised you knew the blue car was a Corvette. But, like me, I know you love your toys. We have an eighty-six year old retired Medal of Honor Marine Major General named James Livingston living in a condo building near us who drives a new Corvette hardtop. He is a tall lanky guy who I sometime see getting into his toy car and being a hardtop, he has to contort to get inside but once inside and strapped in, I then get to hear the sound of a more than four horses roaring to life! Toys are fun at any age!

Correction to read: more than "four-hundred" horses. Some might ask why so many horses are needed to power the car - because the experience is exhilarating!

A little bright for me, but he is out enjoying a Sunday drive with his best friend on a beautiful day. I think of Dad always being a Chevy guy, but practical, not fun. LOL Joan

I had to laugh when I could barely see the man’s head! But it’s fun to drive a Corvette and he has his cute dog beside him.

Primo! I'm not a motorhead, but a Corvette is not hard to identify with the crossed flags on the back. I called a friend, a former Corvette owner who said a car like this is worth between $80,000 and $100,000 depending on accessories, and get this, he said that men of this age are mainly the ones who own this car, not the young guys! That was a surprise. But you affirmed that with your story of the Marine General!
