Cosmic Clouds

I took this down by the beach - I was walking along looking down at the pilings and the old bulkhead.  I was attracted by the dark wood and the dark green marine growth, and then I noticed the forms and colors in the water.  There is something in the combination of the reflections and the colors and streaks that reminds me of molecular clouds out in space.  This photograph now feels more cosmic than ordinary, to me.

At first glance, I thought this was a painting of a futuristic city, with bombed-out buildings and a still-smoldering sky. Certainly looks other-worldly. A little dark, but I like it.

As soon as I looked at this photo, I thought of a surrealistic picture. Quite intriguing! bsk

This is a remarkable demonstration of cisual pattern similarities Theoughout nature. I recall how fish scales, so-called mackerel sky, and some cellular structures appear quite identical at first glance.

Sam also notes that this intriguing image has a color palette solar to Van Gogh's "Starry Night.".

Wow.

My first thought was an apocalyptic explosion at Stonehedge. I'm still not even sure what I'm looking at.

Wow, wow, wow... Thank you all so much. Honestly, when I was working on this image last night, I was thinking that most people would probably not like it. But I was desperate... :-) So it is so nice for me to see how many of you like the image. Thanks!
