My friend Stan recommended me to a documentary filmmaker who wanted still photographs of thirteen giant metal sculptures that are temporarily installed on the mall on Park Avenue. The sculptor is Albert Paley and the works are amazing in their diversity and design. I am guessing that some of the tallest ones are more than twenty five feet high. Anyhow, the project was not funded, but I really wanted to photograph the sculptures just for me. It was a great day, exploring each of these from a number of different angles, and showing them in context with their surroundings. These are only two of them, and I plan to go back and photograph them in the rain one day, and photograph them at dusk with car lights on, on another day. Stay tuned. Please click on these to see much more detail.
