A Warm and Beautiful October Day

I love to paint, and this is my favorite time of year for that.   And today was a perfect day, blue sky and sunshine and the temperature was almost 70 degrees.  So I spent the day on ladders, changing the color of the addition.  The original idea was always to have it painted white to match the house, but there was no denying the beauty of the cedar shingles with the white trim. The only thing is, that the beautiful cedar color would not last in this climate.  You can see some shingles in the lower right of the photo are starting to get grungy brown and there are water stains on some.  So white paint it is.

Looking good. The contrast is beautiful, but now it will blend with your original home. Think about painting your door a bold color. It was a beautiful day and we will enjoy another beautiful day today.

The color of the cedar shingles is wonderful but painting the addition white makes it blend better. I'd love to see a soft grey color on the door to match your slate steps. We'll just have to wait and see....bsk
