Back in January, on the blog, I told the story of getting to photograph Russell Munson, the pilot and photographer, whose work I have known of for years. So today the story ran in Newsday, and it was really a kick to see my photos with my byline, in the newspaper again. Here are four of the photographs from my shoot that they used in the paper. This assignment was really a thrill!

So excited for you. Great photos and I know you are "flying high"

This is like old times. It was good to see your work in the paper, Kenny. The pictures readers send in to fill the paper are "cute" at best, but they don't grab you and pull you in to read the story. These are terrific and it was a nice surprise seeing your byline.
Wow. Terrific! Are you shooting for Newsday again? That would be wonderful!
I am so happy for you :-) You probably feel like it was the first time...Wonderful that you could photograph someone you admire. bsk
I asked if I could do this particular assignment, and my request was approved. Newsday, however, is trying to cut back on using freelance photographers, so shooting more assignments is not in my future, unfortunately.
The "Senator" is looking good and congrats to you!!!
Thanks, Ron! The Senator is a joy to hang out with!
