I went out to pull some weeds under the white picket fence out front. While I was weeding, I noticed these beautiful ferns curling around behind the fence. In some ways they felt like curling ocean waves. I spent some time doing different versions of this. One of the versions is just ferns, and no fence. For some reason, that wasn't as interesting as this version.

Hawaii is more palm trees than ferns, but this picture takes me to the Islands, where the leaves sway in the awesome tropical breezes. Lovely composition.
