A Rainy Day in New York

Have I mentioned how much I love going to New York?  I am sure I have, but every time I go there I see photographs everywhere I look.  It's enough to make your head spin.  Today was gray and rainy, and I walked 20 blocks from 59th street up to the Metropolitan Museum of Art at 79th street, photographing all the way.  How much fun is that! I really like the arrangement of all the umbrellas  within the frame.

Is the 6D weather sealed?

I was using the D300. I don't know of the 6D is sealed or not.

Love the composition of this photo. Everyone is in the right place, as though they're in a movie and the director called 'ACTION!' Nicely done.

I spent a few moments viewing this wonderful New York City street scene of pedestrians walking with umbrellas. My mind wandered a bit to paintings done by Edward Hooper and to a lesser extent, Toulouse-Lautrec. I can easily image this photo being transformed into an oil painting.

PS: It's a good thing you used your antiquated Nikon D-300 for this shot; I believe the increased pixel count on your new Canon D6 would have killed the mood!

I too thought of a painting:
Paris Street; Rainy Day by the French artist Gustave Caillebotte.

Wow, thank you all for the wonderful comments. It is really nice for me to hear how so many of you were reminded of familiar paintings. I will have to look up Gustave Caillebotte - thank you for that suggestion.
