Mystery Image

As Monty Python would say: "And now for something completely different..."  I was doing something today when I saw this.  I was really excited because it was different than what I would normally shoot.  I loved the idea that I was really seeing something subtle and different.  That I was paying attention.  So now it is up to all of you to guess what this is!

My favorite answer is "blueberries in asphalt" - made me laugh out loud! We were having pasta last night, and as I was standing there waiting for the water to boil, I looked into the bottom of the pasta pot, which has a black non-stick finish. Then I noticed all the bubbles covering the bottom of the pot. I grabbed my camera and close-up lens and started shooting. After a while the steam coming off the water began to obscure what was going on, but eventually the pot came to a rolling boil and I put the pasta in. I was amazed at all the times I have added pasta to boiling water but had never noticed the bubbles on the bottom. Probably that's because I would turn on the gas and only come back to a pot already in a rolling boil.
