The Lamp

"The Lamp" you say?  Clearly that is a dress form.  Well, actually it is not.  I thought so too when I first saw it, but then when I stopped to photograph it, I saw the white cord coming out of the bottom and realized that it is made out of translucent blue plastic.  It stopped me cold, seeing it out at the curb like this.  It just seems incongruous photographed against the background of the lawn and the plants in the garden.  It's in perfect condition, so I don't know why it was thrown out.  The good news is that it apparently was picked up by someone before the garbage men came!

I keep looking at this photo and I keep coming back to "questions". Did a seamstress own this? Was it used in a sewing shop? Was it used as a model for a painting class? I could go on but it won't solve the mystery. Glad you took this one - so unusual. betsey

I don't know the answer, but when I touched this, it was made of lightweight plastic, and apparently has a lightbulb inside it. There was a piece of white lamp cord and plug come.ng out of it. It is one piece and not adjustable so I am guessing it is just decorative and never was a dress form. I guess it's just for your living room... :-)
