Notice: There is no Snow in This Picture!

I thought that the disclaimer in the title was important after all the photographs I have been posting with snow in them.  So I went for one of my three-mile walks down along the harbor, and I saw this gnarly tree at the back of Scudder's pond.  It is such an unusual tree, and not beautiful at all.  Usually I would rather photograph beautiful trees because of their shapes and design.  But I will take the odd tree every now and then just for a change, and here it is.

The beautiful shades of gold stand out in this picture for me. Stunning color. trace

The French have that term “jolie laide”: ugly beautiful. That’s what this made me think of. :) And I love the framing of the top of the pond. —Amy
