Mother and Son

On my walk, I saw these two people in the distance and the water running down to the harbor in the foreground.  I liked the shape of the water as it curved toward the harbor.  And the two tiny people in the distance make the scene more interesting.  So I took this photograph with a wide-angle lens.  Then I wondered what the people were doing.  It looked like a mother and son were  doing something on the ground.  So I put my telephoto lens on the camera and zoomed in on them.  It turns out that they had a metal detector and were going over the sand by the water.  It was hard to tell if they found anything, but I thought the silhouettes were interesting.

I love this first photo with the twists and turns going down to the water and your subject. Perfect in black and white. I wonder if the metal detector was a Christmas gift and so nice to see mother and son spending time together. Happy New Year.

Wonderful images of a mother and son looking for treasures on the beach using a metal detector that is most likely a special Christmas present!

Happy New Year!

Love the rocks in the background, the water and the way it ripples, the way it winds down to the harbor and the designs from it in the sand. Very beautiful. It's a nice photo of mother and son spending time together. The lighting is perfect. I, too, look forward to another year of great photos and stories. Trace
